If a marketplace integration asks for your password, walk away

No marketplace integration needs your password. Trendyol, Hepsiburada and n11 issue scoped keys; Amazon, eBay and your own store need only a notification address. A tool asking for your password is either badly built or unsafe.

A key is not a password

Your password opens the whole account: payouts, listings, closing the shop. A scoped key only covers what it was granted and is revoked from the seller panel in one click. If either leaks, the consequences are not comparable.

The hidden cost of sharing a password

Once shared, the only way to revoke it is to change it, which breaks everything else using it. Most marketplace terms also forbid sharing account credentials, which puts the liability on you rather than the tool.

Three questions worth asking

Where is my key stored and is it encrypted? Exactly which permissions do you need? How do I disconnect? A tool that cannot answer all three plainly is not one to connect.

Frequently asked

Does any marketplace integration need my password?

No. The official routes are scoped keys or a notification address, both revocable by you.

Can I revoke access after connecting?

Yes. Keys are revoked from your seller panel and notification addresses are changed back, both taking effect immediately.
